Finding the pose that cuts to the heart of a subject and catching the gesture that says it all is one of the supreme challenges of photography. For the juried exhibition “Pose and Gesture” at PhotoPlace Gallery, we seek images whose strength lies in a figure’s pose or gesture. Juror Tim Anderson selected forty photographs for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in February and on the gallery website. An additional thirty-five images were chosen for PhotoPlace's "On-Line Gallery Annex."
All accepted work will be included with artists' permission in a small format full color exhibition catalogue available for purchase from Blurb Books.
Juror Tim Anderson is the former managing editor of CameraArts magazine and has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. He is the editor of Red Dog News, a bi-weekly photo-based e-mail newsletter, and The Red Dog Blog. He recently published Poser: A Sketchbook of Ideas for Photographers and Models.
